Why does my Vauxhall Insignia have a jerking sensation when accelerating?

Recently, my Vauxhall Insignia has started to have a jerking sensation when I accelerate. It feels like the car is trying to catch up to my acceleration, causing a hesitation before smoothly accelerating. This only happens sometimes, but I'm concerned it could be a serious problem. Any advice on what could be causing this issue?

Hi Alexa, thanks for reaching out. The jerking sensation you are experiencing could be caused by a few different things. One possibility could be a misfiring engine, which could be caused by spark plugs or ignition coils. It's best to bring your car to a mechanic to get it diagnosed and fixed.

Hey Alexa, I've experienced this issue with my Vauxhall Insignia before. It turned out to be a dirty fuel filter, which was easily fixed by getting it cleaned. It's worth checking this as a potential cause.

Hi Alexa, I had a similar problem with my Vauxhall Insignia and it ended up being a faulty throttle position sensor. This caused a delay in the engine receiving the correct amount of fuel, resulting in a jerking sensation. Get this checked out by a mechanic as it could be a safety hazard.
