Why is my Vauxhall Grandland's brake pedal feeling spongy?

I have noticed that the brake pedal in my Vauxhall Grandland is feeling spongy and less responsive. This started happening after I drove through heavy rain. I'm concerned about the safety of my vehicle. What could be causing this and what should I do?

It is possible that water has gotten into the brake fluid system and has contaminated it. This can cause the brake pedal to feel spongy and less responsive. I would recommend having your brake fluid flushed and replaced as soon as possible.

Another possibility is that there is air trapped in your brake lines. This can also cause a spongy brake pedal. You can try bleeding the brake lines to remove any air bubbles. If the problem persists, it's best to have a professional mechanic check it out.

In some cases, worn brake pads or rotors can also contribute to a spongy brake pedal. I suggest having your brakes inspected to see if they need to be replaced. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your brakes.
