Why is my Vauxhall Crossland making a screeching noise while braking?

I just got my new Vauxhall Crossland and noticed that every time I hit the brakes, there's a loud screeching noise. It's really annoying and I'm worried something might be wrong with my car. Can anyone help me figure out what's causing this?

Hi Christine, it sounds like you might have worn out brake pads. This is a common issue with new cars and can easily be fixed by getting them replaced. It's important to get this taken care of as soon as possible to avoid any further damage to your car.

Hi Christine, screeching noises when braking can also be caused by a build-up of dirt and debris in the brake system. Try cleaning your brakes and see if that solves the issue. If not, it's best to take it to a mechanic for a proper inspection.

Hey Christine, another potential cause of screeching brakes could be a loose brake caliper. This can happen when the caliper bolts become loose over time. I suggest taking your car to a mechanic to get it checked out and tightened if necessary.
