What to do if my Vauxhall Astra loses power while driving?

I was driving my Vauxhall Astra on the highway and suddenly the car lost power. The dashboard lights turned on and I had to pull over. What could have caused this and what should I do?

It is important to immediately pull over and turn on your hazard lights. This could be a sign of a mechanical issue or an electrical problem. Check your battery and engine connections for any loose wires or corrosion. If everything looks fine, it could be a faulty fuel injector or a clogged fuel filter.

Another potential cause could be a faulty ignition coil or spark plugs. These parts are responsible for igniting the fuel in the engine and if they are not functioning properly, the car can lose power. It is recommended to have a mechanic check these components and replace them if needed.

In some cases, a dirty air filter or a faulty mass air flow sensor can also lead to loss of power while driving. Make sure to regularly change your air filter and have your MAF sensor inspected during routine maintenance.
