Why is my Vauxhall Grandland making a strange noise while braking?

I recently purchased a Vauxhall Grandland and have noticed that when I apply the brakes, there is a strange noise coming from the front of the car. It almost sounds like a grinding noise. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?

This could be caused by worn out brake pads or rotor damage. It is important to have this checked by a mechanic as soon as possible to prevent further damage and ensure your safety on the road.

It could also be due to debris or dirt getting stuck in the brake system. Try getting your brakes cleaned to see if that resolves the issue.

If the sound only occurs when you first start driving, it could just be rust build-up on the rotors from sitting overnight. This should go away after a few minutes of driving.
