A

The most common cause of black smoke from the exhaust is an issue with the fuel system. You may have a clogged fuel filter or a dirty air filter, which can affect the air/fuel ratio and result in black smoke. Try changing these filters and see if it helps.

S

Another possible cause could be a faulty oxygen sensor. The oxygen sensor helps regulate the air/fuel mixture and if it's not functioning properly, it can cause excessive fuel to be injected into the engine, resulting in black smoke. Have a mechanic check and replace the sensor if necessary.

Excessive oil consumption can also lead to black smoke from the exhaust. Make sure to check your engine oil regularly and add more if needed. If you notice your oil levels are consistently low, there may be a leak in the engine that needs to be fixed.
